Whenever soup season arrives, the first gut health soup recipe I reach for in my recipe index is my gut healing chicken soup recipe. The nourishing ingredients of my gut healthy chicken soup are better than opening up a can of sodium and preservative filled canned soup.

Here's how easy it is to make a delicious fall or winter gut healing chicken soup recipe. It's as simple as gathering your ingredients and throwing them into a soup pot.
Step 1: Saute Veggies
🔥 To a large pot, add the olive oil, onions, and celery, and heat over medium-high heat about 8 to 10 minutes until they turn translucent.
Step 2: Gently Simmer
🧄 Add the garlic and stir for another minute. Add the bone broth, thyme, ginger, turmeric, black pepper, and bring to a boil. Stir in the carrots, mushrooms, kale, and zucchini. Allow soup to boil gently for about 10 minutes, or until vegetables are cooked tender.
Step 3: Add Noodles
🍜 Next, add the gluten-free egg noodles or pasta of choice, and cook for about 10 minutes, or until noodles are soft and cooked through.
Step 4: Add Chicken
🍗 Add the cooked chicken and gently warm for 5 minutes. Serve with fresh parsley, red pepper flakes, and adjust the salt to your liking. I like to finish with a splash of fresh lemon juice right on top.

- 1 large onion, yellow (Finely diced)
- 1 stalk celery (Finely diced)
- 2 large carrots (Shredded or chopped)
- ½ cup kale (Thinly chopped)
- ½ cup mushrooms, cremini
- 1 large zucchini (Chopped)
- 8 cups bone broth (Chicken flavored)
- 2 chicken, breast (Shredded, boneless, skinless; or leftover rotisserie chicken)
- 12 ounces egg noodles, gluten-free
- 1 teaspoon turmeric, ground
- ½ teaspoon black pepper, ground
- 1 teaspoon ginger, ground
- 4 cloves garlic, fresh (Minced)
- 1 ½ teaspoons thyme, dried
Optional Toppings:
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons parsley, fresh (Chopped)
- 1 dash sea salt (To taste)
- 1 splash lemon, juice (To taste)
Instructions

My gut healing chicken soup is great stored for 4-5 days in the refrigerator. Cool the soup first, and then transfer to an airtight storage container in the fridge.
I like to make big batches of this gut healthy chicken soup and store it in the freezer for 3 months. The perfect meal prep dinner or lunch idea. Simply reheat on the stove or microwave, and then serve on those chilly winter evenings.
